KIRKWOOD EXTENDED SCHOOL YEAR

ELEMENTARY CLASSES
- Classes Begin: Monday June 7
- Classes End: Thursday July 1
- Class time: 7:45 A.M. - 12:15 P.M.
- Bus service is available
- Reading and Math for students in grades 1-5
- Transition Class for students currently in grade 5 and entering grade 6
Students take both reading and math daily. The day is divided into two class sessions. Transition class schedule will be based on enrollment.
Extended day care is available (for a fee).
MIDDLE SCHOOL CLASSES
- Classes Begin: Monday June 7
- Classes End: Thursday July 8
- Class time: 8:30 A.M. - 12:30 P.M.
- Bus service is available
- Reading, Math, Communications Arts (8:30 - 12:30)
Students take three classes daily.
Classes Offered for students currently in Grade 7:
- Algebra Jump Start (8:30 - 12:30)
Two sessions from which to choose:
- Session 1 is June 7 - June 22
- Session 2 is June 23 - July 8
- Pioneer Prep (high school credit available) (8:30 - 12:30)
This class will cover study skills, the 9th grade novel, and vocabulary for freshman physics and civics.
HIGH SCHOOL CLASSES
- Classes Begin: Monday June 7
- Classes End: Friday July9
CREDIT RECOVERY CLASSES
- Class Time: 7:45 - 11:45 A.M.
- Bus Service is available
- Two Sessions will be held:
- Session 1 is June 7 - June 22 (12 days)
- Session 2 is June 23 - July 9 (12 days)
- Classes Offered for students repeating a class already taken:
- Freshman Literature and Composition
- Sophomore Literature and Composition
- Junior English (TBA)
- Algebra I
- Algebra II
- Geometry
- Civics
- World History I, World History II, World History III
- Freshman Physics
- Chemistry
- Biology
- Bus service is not available
- Classes meet from June 7 - July 9 (24 days). There are two sessions within those dates to choose:
- Session A - 7:30 - 10:00 A.M.
- Session B - 10:15 A.M. - 12:45 P.M.
- Classes Offered for students seeking credit enhancement (no previous enrollment in this class): Health, Personal Finance,and Lifetime Fitness
