We are thrilled to be off to a fabulous start of the 2010-2011 school year. North Kirkwood Middle School is a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon school, Missouri Gold Star school, and an award winning Champions of Character school! In receiving each of these prestigious awards, North demonstrated an ongoing commitment to rigorous academic curriculum and instruction, focus on healthy decision-making skills, and the development of good character, service learning and school citizenship.

We are very proud of our students’ academic achievement. At NKMS, we believe that every child can be successful and this success is possible through focused, relevant, and engaging instruction; communication; collaboration; and parental support. We also understand that students learn differently and require the curriculum to be delivered in multiple formats. Therefore, we strive to provide every opportunity for maximum student achievement by personalizing learning activities for our students.

One of our goals is to prepare students to be responsible citizens and people of good character as they take their place in society. We believe that everyone at North Kirkwood Middle School is "Responsible-4 their Learning, Character, Respect, and Relationships." It has become our motto and a way of life for us at North. You will see these posters throughout our school and we will reference our "R-4" in lessons and expectations throughout the year.
