Where am I?
2011 Veterans Day
Robinson students and staff participated in a Veteran's Day assembly on November 11, 2011. Honored guests were those family members who are veterans or currently serving in the armed forces. Kindergartners led the Pledge of Allegiance, students sang patriotic songs and listened to Lt. Commander Tom Appelbaum (first grade teacher, Shannon Appelbaum's husband) share stories and pictures of his time serving in the Air National Guard. Students also read a portion of the President's Veteran's Day Proclamation.
Robinson received thank you letters from some of the veterans. Comments from veterans described the respectful group of students as one of the best recognitions they had ever received.
Following the assembly, students sent letters to veterans at local VA hospitals. Over 400 letters, cards and pictures were mailed from Robinson students and staff.
