Homework

Our Word for the Week is: fabricate

Tuesday 1-6-09

Reading

Read for 30 minutes.

In the Reading Log tonight, I want the students to describe (in cursive) the setting of the book that they are reading. They need to remember that setting has two parts: where and when. In addition, I want the students to tell how they know what the setting is -- evidence from the text.

Writing

Write for 10 minutes in the Writer's Notebook.

Everyone needs to have their Writer's Notebook at school every day.

Saying for the week: "At day's end ask yourself, 'What have I learned today?'"

Spelling

Practice words: comprehension, vocabulary, inferring, mental pictures, autism, racism, realism, feudalism.

Math

Vocabulary for Unit 5 (pdf, 88.98KB)

Please download the Vocabulary and review the terms with your child. Your child needs to have working knowledge of these words to be successful with this unit.

Social Studies

My class is with Ms. Parker for the "Exploration Unit." Ask your child what he/she is learning.

Science

I am now teaching the "Mixtures and Solutions Unit" to Ms Hoffmann's students.

Today we watched a video about "Properties of Matter." Ask your child what he/she learned from the video.
