Would you like your 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th grader to volunteer this summer? If you answered “yes”, then the Senior Summer Troupe Program at Bethesda Dilworth might be for you! In the program, each student is paired with 2-3 seniors to visit with and help participate in activities. Students must enjoy working with seniors, have a positive attitude, and want to learn. Volunteers work under the supervision of the Bethesda Volunteer Coordinator and Activities Staff. This is a great opportunity to reach out and help others!

*** 7th grade teacher, Maria Stobbe's own daughter and son have both participated in the program for the last 5 years. It is an amazing program. She can't say enough positive things about their experience. If you would like more information, she is happy to talk to you about it!

Parents,
With the unpredictable St. Louis weather, we've had a number of students sick or sniffling. Unfortunately, we're running low on Kleenex in our Encore, Wellness, and Counseling Departments. If you can spare a box, we would really appreciate your donation. Please ask your child to drop the box off in the main office and we will distribute them to staff members in need. Thanks again for your help!

The students will turn these in at the completion of the novel for a summative grade. Since we don't have enough books for all the students to have a copy, I will keep these at school. Students may check out a book at the end of the day in case they need to work on their packet. However, plenty of class time will be given.
The students should work in their writing journal as well.
Wednesday/Thursday - We will have an appositive quiz. We will read Chapters 5-7 and work on the packet.
The Six Flags Reading Program deadline is fast approaching. When your child has read 6 hours, sign and turn in the form to me.
