Finally! I figured out how to post video. If you would like to see our SMARTboard in action during circle time, log on to:
http://www.schooltube.com and click on "channels". Search for "divrmom" and then click on my name. This will take you to my channel. Sorry I could not figure out how to upload it here. I will keep trying.

We used the SMART board to sequence the animals in the story Brown Bear Brown Bear and then used it to retell the story. Some of our hands are so tiny so we use a tennis ball instead of our finger to work the SMARTboard!

We can also just draw using our finger!

Introducing the SMARTboard to the new class is always a challenge but they did great! We worked on beginning sounds during our pets week and took turns writing the letters on the SMARTboard.

We spent some time today watching the inauguration of President Obama as it was streamlined on MSN.com.

This week we talked about transportation. The teacher gave us a clue and we had to circle the right vehicle. Then we used the eraser to erase it.

In math, we used the SMART board to work on number identification with dot-to-dots.

As an extension to Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, the children were able to use the SMART board to circle letters and then tell the letter name and sound it makes and a word that starts with that letter.

The children also used the SMART board for playing the computer game, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. This allows more children to participate at one time and also takes away the difficulty of using a mouse.

Click on the link below to see how we voted on the SMART board during our discussion about the Presidential election.

Here we are working on correct letter formation during Handwriting Without Tears. She is standing to the side so her shadow does not get in the way.

Here, another student has just finished the Handwriting Without Tears activity and is using the letters at the top as a model for her letter writing. Instead of standing to the side, she is writing above her shadow.
