LEARNING OBJECTIVE: You will be able to explain the difference between a raster image and a vector image and be able to justify which program (Photoshop or Illustrator) is best to solve specific design problems.

- Looking at our notes and handouts on Illustrator, you will use a Venn Diagram to list specific characteristics of just Photoshop in column (A), and Illustrator in (B). What is the same about the programs (C)?
- Watch this video, and fill in your diagram with more notes.
- Answer these questions:
- If you were asked to design a logo, which program is best to use and why?
- If you were given a photograph to alter, which program is best to use and why?
- Compare the two samples below. Which is the raster image? Which is the vector image, and how did you determine this?
