The beginning of the 2008-2009 school year is just as exciting as my first one in the district in 1994. Every year brings new experiences and opportunities.

We recently opened a new science center and a new physical education facility at the high school. We have made many life-safety improvements to our elementary and middle schools including new fire alarm systems, new sprinkler systems, domestic and fire main replacements, roofing work, new rooftop air-conditioning units and playground renovations. In keeping with our district master facilities plan, more school improvements are planned in the coming school years.

All of this work would not have been possible without an exceptional school community. The Kirkwood School District is fortunate to have the generous support of parents and the community for our quality students, educators and staff members.
